The Program:

At Medidata, interns will have the opportunity to accelerate their careers by working closely with experienced professionals and gain valuable, hands-on, full-time work experience. By being a part of our global organization, interns have the opportunity to work alongside our talented and committed professionals helping them to build a strong foundation for achieving their career goals. For 12 weeks, beginning May 19, 2025, interns will have an opportunity to gain a deep understanding of what it means to be a Medidatian. United around a single goal of empowering smarter treatments and healthier people. Medidatians work in a culture of curiosity, innovation and fun. You will be contributing to the line of business with sustainable and meaningful work.

Our Summer Internship program also includes instructor led training, guided mentorship, exposure to senior leadership and community service. In addition to individual and specific related responsibilities, each intern will participate in our Intern Innovation Lab. Assigned to cross-functional teams, interns will work closely to develop an innovative solution to a business problem currently facing Medidata. As they work diligently to present their final solutions to a panel of top Medidata leaders, we are confident that our interns will make a significant impact on our business.

About the Team:

The Position: We are seeking a passionate DevOps Engineer to rapidly develop code for automation and modernizing our CI/CD. You will work alongside seasoned developers on existing and new code projects, participate in service deployments, interact with development teams, witness change controls at scale, and operate in the devops chain of change delivery.

Project Description:

The product:

This project will be focused on modernizing our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD by leveraging IAC(Infrastructure as Code) and GitOps practices to enable engineering teams to provision/manage/deploy resources/apps/services with little to no manual/human intervention.

Who you will work with

The Team: Work closely with our team of DevOps Engineers and architects to build and refine our products.

Engineering: Work as a DevOps liaison in expanding capabilities of Engineering teams.

InfoSec and CloudInfra: Work with central teams to validate solutions/architectures/use-cases and ensure strict security standards are enforced.

Senior Mentors: Benefit from the insights and guidance of seasoned professionals, ensuring your growth and development during the internship.

By the end of the internship, you will

Understand how infrastructure provisioning and management is automated, all aspects of CI/CD, security and monitoring.

Deeper understanding of the cloud, systems architecture, building for scalability, availability and fault tolerance

Gain exposure to industry best practices, design patterns, and advanced automation techniques.

Develop proficiency in collaboration tools and platforms used by our engineering team.

Understand how cross-functional teams collaborate in a real-world tech environment.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related degree program.
  • Familiarity with cloud providers, preferably AWS.
  • Knowledge on CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and GitOps methodologies.
  • Understanding of containerization and container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City/New Jersey As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City/New Jersey, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base hourly pay range for this position is $32 an hour and a $3,500 sign on bonus.
