Position Description:
The Development Coordinator supports the development team in increasing financial support for Habitats mission and strengthening donor engagement. This role assists with fundraising plans, donor cultivation and stewardship efforts, and the diversification of Habitats donor base. The position is responsible for key fund development operations, including gift processing, donor acknowledgment, reporting, and database management, and provides logistical support for fundraising events and campaigns.

The ideal candidate is someone who understands the power of gratitude and champions the importance of healthy data and strong fundraising operations. They are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and take pride in accuracy, organization, and follow-through. This individual is a collaborative team player with strong data management and analytical skills who can manage multiple priorities independently while supporting a high-quality donor experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic:
Support the development departments goals and objectives through strong execution of fundraising operations and donor systems.
Contribute to fundraising strategy by providing accurate data, analysis, and reporting that informs donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.

Technical:
Act as primary operational support to the Development team through a combination of ongoing and special projects, including but not limited to the following:
Serve as the development teams primary administrator and in-house Salesforce resource, ensuring data integrity, effective use of system features, and continuous improvement of the donor database to support fundraising goals.
Manage gift processing, acknowledgments, pledge tracking, and follow-up processes, ensuring data integrity, IRS compliance, and alignment with finance reconciliation.
Generate queries, dashboards, and reports to support development metrics, financial analysis, appeals, events, and board or committee reporting.
Respond to donor inquiries or issues and escalate when necessary. Enlist others as needed.
Support and continuously improve the management and collection of impact data for donor communications, proposals, and grant reporting.
Continually review, analyze, document, and improve development data systems and workflows to increase efficiency, consistency, and data quality, supporting the movement of donors and constituents along the engagement continuum over time.
Support the execution of print and electronic communications, donor stewardship tasks, donor proposals, impact reports, grant submissions, and stewardship initiatives.
Identify, prepare, and coordinate development-related projects suitable for volunteers and Habitat homebuyers completing sweat equity, including documenting tasks, providing guidance, and monitoring execution to ensure quality and timeliness.

Budgetary:
Monitor development budget activity and assist in formulating the annual development program budget.
Reconcile contributions with the finance team to ensure accurate revenue tracking and reporting.

Leadership & Teamwork:
Maintain a team first outlook, supporting the success of the team and the mission in attitude, ideas, and actions, including ideas for growing and improving the affiliate.
Collaborate across departments to support shared goals, ensuring alignment between development operations and organizational needs while sharing expertise related to development systems and processes.
Take on additional responsibilities as needed, when prioritized by leadership, to help achieve Habitats mission and goals.

External Representation:
Act as an informed professional advocate for Habitat for Humanity.
Contribute to Fox Cities Habitats events by providing logistical, operational, and networking or engagement support for fundraising and build site special events.
Engage enthusiastically with team members, program participants, donors, board members, and volunteers, using strong people skills to build and maintain trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Bachelors degree in relevant studies, or equivalent experience required.
Two years administrative operations experience preferred. Experience in non-profit development, communications, or volunteer work a plus.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including some weekends and evenings as required.
Must have reliable transportation, a valid drivers license, current car insurance, and a safe driving record.
Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and database systems. Experience with donor management databases preferred (Salesforce, Raisers Edge, Donor Perfect, etc.)
Highly skilled in managing multiple priorities, exercising sound judgment, and maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Innovative, initiative-taking, and able to work independently within the context of an overall strategy and collaborative team.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity and respect when working with sensitive information and diverse populations.
