The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Developing-Level Piping Designer to support industrial and commercial facility projects for a global engineering organization. This role is ideal for an early-career piping designer who wants to continue building technical depth while working alongside experienced engineers and senior designers.

You’ll contribute to piping layouts, models, and drawings under guidance, gaining exposure to design standards, multi-discipline coordination, and global workshare execution.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop basic piping layouts and perform pipe routing tasks using AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, or CADWorx under direction from senior staff

  • Apply fundamental piping design principles, including pipe sizing, routing logic, and coordination with other disciplines

  • Assist with equipment layout and incorporate vendor information into design models

  • Support the creation of drawings, details, and deliverables in accordance with project and company standards

  • Review and integrate markups, comments, and redlines from senior designers and engineers

  • Participate in workshare coordination by communicating model status and following clear task instructions

  • Maintain quality, accuracy, and organization across assigned design tasks

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • Associate’s degree in Design Technology or a related field
(or 2+ years of equivalent practical experience)

  • 2–4 years of piping design experience in industrial, commercial, or manufacturing environments

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, or CADWorx

  • Understanding of piping fundamentals, equipment arrangement, and general design practices

  • Ability to read and apply basic piping specifications with guidance

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for drawings and models

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment

Ideally, You Will Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or similar curriculum

  • Experience supporting projects in pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing facilities

  • Familiarity with pipe stress concepts and how they influence layout decisions

  • Exposure to QA/QC workflows, model cleanup, or specification-driven design

  • Hands-on experience with Revit or CADWorx beyond foundational use (e.g., families/parts, spec-driven design, advanced modeling tools)

  • Prior involvement in a global workshare environment

Work Model

This is a hybrid role, requiring onsite presence two days per week at an approved office location. Preferred locations are listed above; alternate locations may be considered based on experience and alignment with project needs.
