Developer Relations Engineer III, Gaming

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of work experience in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, solutions consultant, etc.) or equivalent technical experience.
- Low level graphics programming experience.
Preferred qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a technical practitioner in a developer community.
- Experience writing shader and low-level graphics API code.
- Knowledge of GPU pipeline (e.g., OpenGL ES, Vulkan, Metal).
- Ability to collaborate effectively within the team and across groups. Ability to influence and partner across a wide variety of levels, functions, and geographies.

Part community manager and part developer advocate, Developer Relations Engineers collaborate with developers at conferences and online, and advocate for developers interests internally at Google. Not afraid to be hands-on, you write sample code and client libraries as well as participate in developer forums and support queues to troubleshoot and debug coding problems developers encounter. Internally, you work with product engineering teams to improve our products by conveying feedback from developers, reviewing API designs and testing new features. Chrome, Android, App Engine, HTML5 as well as our core Google Apps and Ads APIs are just some of the platforms you promote and support.With your technical expertise, you drive strategy around fostering a community of developers who work with Google technologies. An ardent advocate for these developers, you represent their voice internally to our Product Managers and serve as their Google support in application development and technology implementation.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Contribute input and feedback on products or programs, and represent the interests of partners to internal stakeholders.
- Work with game developers and game engines in the Americas region to support product integrations on Android devices.
- Optimize AA/AAA game titles, resolve engineering problems with Google technologies and scale the knowledge to improve the overall gaming ecosystem.
- Advocate for game developers internally and influence Google developer product strategy by working with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Business Development, PR, and other cross-functional teams.
- Drive regular, engineering-focused workshops and meetings with developers to optimize the gaming experience and resolve complex technical problems at scale.
