Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, products, and systems using CAD software.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
• Conduct design analysis, simulations, and calculations to ensure product performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for manufacturability, assembly, and cost-effectiveness.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on design requirements and industry standards.
• Participate in prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
• Investigate and resolve design-related manufacturing issues and product failures.
• Maintain accurate design documentation and records throughout the product lifecycle.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, welding, sheet metal fabrication).
• Demonstrated knowledge of material science and selection for engineering applications.
• Solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles, including stress analysis and GD&T.
• Proven experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) methodologies.
• Ability to conduct design calculations, simulations, and analyze test data for product validation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation software.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, welding, additive manufacturing).
• Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
