Salary Range: $69,000 - $108,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Grand Rapids that are seeking Design Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products, components, or systems for manufacturing.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to optimize cost and performance.
• Conduct design analysis, simulations (e.g., FEA), and calculations to validate designs.
• Develop and manage prototypes for testing, evaluation, and design refinement.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Generate comprehensive design documentation, specifications, and bills of material (BOMs).

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Proven proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) for part and assembly design.
• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal) and material properties.
• Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment, including prototyping, testing, and product validation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
• Advanced FEA/CFD simulation experience
• Proficiency with CAM software and machining processes
• Hands-on prototyping and testing experience
