The Design Director, Brand Design is responsible for leading the development, execution, and evolution of the organization's brand identity across all channels and touch points. This role provides strategic direction and creative leadership to ensure a cohesive, compelling, and differentiated brand presence.
The Design Director partners closely with marketing, product, and executive leadership to translate business objectives into impactful visual and experiential design solutions. The ideal candidate is a visionary creative leader with a strong portfolio, deep expertise in brand systems, and a proven ability to manage and inspire high-performing design teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the overall brand design strategy, vision, and creative direction
- Oversee the development and maintenance of brand guidelines, visual identity systems, and design standards
- Lead and mentor a team of designers, art directors, and creative professionals
- Ensure consistency and excellence across all brand touch points, including digital, print, product, and marketing materials
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, product, and communications
- Direct creative concept development, campaigns, and brand storytelling initiatives
- Manage design resources, timelines, and budgets effectively
- Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high-quality output
- Leverage design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Incorporate user insights, market trends, and data-driven decision-making into brand strategy
- Ensure accessibility, inclusivity, and usability standards are met across all designs
- Stay informed on emerging design trends, technologies, and competitive benchmarks
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field required
- Master's degree or advanced certifications in design or creative leadership preferred
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in brand design, visual design, or creative direction
- 2+ years of leadership experience managing design teams
- Proven portfolio demonstrating strong brand development and execution

Compensation
- Annual Salary Range: $160,000 to $220,000 USD, depending on experience, industry, and location
- Executive-level bonuses and potential equity or stock options may be included
