Dental Assistant – Elyria, OH

Our established group dental practice in Elyria, OH is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. Our office includes five dentists and a support staff of approximately 18 employees. The ideal candidate will play an important role in delivering excellent patient care while helping maintain an efficient and welcoming clinical environment.

Schedule
• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Full-time, 35 to 40 hours per week

Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
• Prepare and maintain treatment rooms while following infection control and aseptic protocols
• Take dental X-rays and assist with diagnostic procedures
• Conduct preliminary patient assessments including vital signs and medical history
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation while adhering to HIPAA regulations
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and maintaining patient information
• Provide chairside assistance for procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions
• Operate 3D scanners when required for procedures
• Collaborate with the front office team to maintain efficient patient flow and scheduling

Requirements
• Ohio X-Ray License required
• Prior experience in a dental clinic setting preferred
• Familiarity with dental terminology and dental coding
• Experience with Dentrix or similar dental software
• Strong understanding of infection control procedures
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Pay & Compensation
• $20 – $25 per hour
