Job Description:

The Delivery Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of delivery drivers to achieve accuracy in a variety of goals including: productivity, quality, accuracy, problem resolution, outstanding customer service, employee relations (motivation and development), and maintaining a safe work environment. The Delivery Supervisor has the primary responsibility for coordinating all delivery operations including routing, delivering and backhauling operations while working closely with the broader operations team to ensure operational excellence and overall team success.

Essential Functions (This list may not include all duties as assigned):

  • Directly supervises delivery associates including the hiring, training and day-to-day management of Delivery Drivers

  • Oversees outgoing shipping activities to ensure order accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments

  • Assists Warehouse Manager or General Manager in planning, prioritizing, and communicating shift directives to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and quality is met

  • Manages the efficiency of delivery routes using routing software

  • Ensures exceptional customer service key performance indicators (order fill rate accuracy, unannounced inspections, inventory accuracy, controlling breakage, meeting delivery windows, etc.)

  • Promotes constant and measurable improvement; teaches and enforces Company polices and best in class customer service at all times

  • Maintains a clean, professional, and safe working environment by meeting or exceeding Company safety goals

  • Effectively communicates team goals, expectations, areas for improvement, and successes to associates

  • Personally coaches, trains, and mentors direct reports in order to ensure personal growth and career development

  • Establishes and maintains best in class systems and processes for the Delivery Driver teams to provide quality customer service.

  • Foster and maintain a collaborative relationship with the sales, warehouse, delivery and customer service departments.

  • Interface with customers solving discrepancies, problems and creating a cohesive relationship

  • Ensures the safeguard and security of Company assets.

Other:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class B CDL with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record based on State and Company standards.

  • Must obtain and hold a DOT Med card and remain in DOT compliance as a condition of employment.

  • Must be able to travel within established geographic areas, as necessary.

  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in order fulfillment.

  • 3+ years of delivery and warehouse management experience.

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience managing delivery drivers.

  • Inventory management and control experience.

  • Must be able to maintain accurate inventory.

  • Must obtain and hold a DOT Med card and remain in DOT compliance as a condition of employment.

  • Proficient in the Use of delivery routing software, Descartes preferred.

  • Familiar with GPS tracking software, Samsara preferred

  • Must be flexible and able to ask questions.

  • Wine and Spirits warehouse experience is a plus.

  • NetSuite’s software a plus.

  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Excellent math skills are essential and used daily especially when performing product movements, cycle-counts and location integrities.

  • LEADERSHIP SKILLS- Strong leadership skills and the ability to build cohesive teams is a must. This individual must be able to work with limited direction.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
