Delivery Driver / Maintenance

Empire Coating Inc is looking for a reliable, versatile individual to join our team in a hybrid capacity. The Delivery Driver / Maintenance role is split between driving (around 18-20 hours/week) and light industrial maintenance, ensuring our products get to their destination and our facility stays in top shape.

Position Overview

Driving & Logistics:

• Safe Operation: Securely operate a 26' box truck for local and regional deliveries/pickups.
• Loading/Unloading: Ensure all cargo is properly palletized, strapped, and secured. Assist with loading and unloading at docks using pallet jacks or forklifts.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, BOLs (Bills of Lading), and delivery receipts.
• Vehicle Care: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report any mechanical issues immediately.

Facilities & Light Maintenance:

• General Repairs: Perform basic "handyman" tasks around the manufacturing plant (e.g., minor plumbing, changing light fixtures, painting, or drywall repair).
• Preventative Maintenance: Assist the maintenance team with routine checks on HVAC filters, compressors, or non-technical machinery components.
• Safety & Grounds: Keep walkways clear, manage waste/recycling removal, and ensure the shop floor remains free of hazards.
• Organization: Maintain the inventory of maintenance supplies and tools.

• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• License: Valid driver license (CDL not required)

• Testing: Pre-employment DOT physical

• Experience:
  • Previous experience as a Box Truck Driver
  • Previous experience in warehouse, or other related field strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
  • Current forklift license preferred, ability to drive a forklift required

Shift:

• Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

Total Compensation Package:

• Wage
  • This role is based in the State of New York which requires the disclosure of salary ranges. The expected salary range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour. Empire Coating Inc provides salary ranges as a good faith estimate of what the company reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of posting. Compensation offered to a selected candidate may vary based on factors such as (but not limited to) a candidate's job-related qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
