About the Opportunity

A lower middle-market private equity firm (representative of firms within our network) may seek an analytically rigorous Deal Evaluation Analyst to support investment screening, underwriting, and transaction execution.

Individuals in roles like this gain hands-on experience evaluating live deal opportunities, conducting in-depth financial analysis, and supporting investment committee decisions. Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Deal Screening & Evaluation

  • Review inbound investment opportunities and prepare initial screening analyses

  • Build and refine operating and transaction models (3-statement models, DCFs, LBOs)

  • Evaluate return profiles, capital structures, leverage capacity, and downside scenarios

  • Conduct valuation analyses using comparable companies, precedent transactions, and intrinsic valuation methods

  • Assess investment risks and identify key value drivers

Due Diligence & Market Analysis

  • Support financial, commercial, operational, and legal diligence workstreams

  • Analyze historical financial performance, KPIs, customer metrics, and unit economics

  • Conduct industry research and competitive landscape analysis

  • Validate assumptions used in underwriting models

Investment Committee Support

  • Draft screening memos, investment committee materials, and summary analyses

  • Synthesize diligence findings into clear, structured recommendations

  • Present data-backed insights on risks, opportunities, and return potential

Transaction & Portfolio Support

  • Assist with transaction execution, data room review, and third-party advisor coordination

  • Support portfolio company KPI tracking and performance analysis

  • Contribute to analysis for add-on acquisitions, refinancing opportunities, and exit scenarios
