Data Scientist

About the role

We are seeking a Mid-Level Data Scientist to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytical and machine learning solutions across Wolfe Research’s data ecosystem. This role is highly technical and hands-on, requiring deep expertise in predictive modeling, NLP, large language model workflows, cloud-based ML systems, and production-grade data science engineering.

You will work on high-impact initiatives spanning structured and unstructured financial data, internal research content, alternative data, and AI-powered applications. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building statistically rigorous models, designing scalable ML pipelines, productionizing models in the cloud, and partnering with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to deliver measurable outcomes.

*This role is required 3 days in office* 

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deploy end-to-end machine learning and data science solutions, from data preparation through production implementation and monitoring.
• Develop predictive, statistical, and NLP models using internal and external datasets, leveraging transformer-based architectures and PyTorch for advanced language and machine learning applications.
• Partner with stakeholders to define use cases, scope projects, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Create Proof of Concepts and production-ready workflows that integrate with internal platforms and user processes.
• Work with engineering teams to productionize models through APIs, pipelines, and cloud-based deployment patterns.
• Implement data validation, model evaluation, monitoring, and documentation best practices.
• Contribute to AI-enabled products involving search, classification, extraction, summarization, and analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 4–5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics.
• Strong experience delivering end-to-end data science projects in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• Experience with NLP / LLM workflows, including text analytics, retrieval, classification, or transformer-based models.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure
• Experience with CI/CD, version control, and working in Agile environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.

 Preferred Experience

• Experience with financial data
• Experience with SQL Server, CosmosDB, or modern data pipelines.
• Experience deploying models into production and supporting ongoing model performance and monitoring.

At Wolfe Research we feel passionately about equal pay for equal work and pay transparency is an integral practice for that. The compensation for this role is market competitive with a base salary range of $140,000-$165,000. We intend to offer the selected candidate a base salary within this range, based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to skill set, job-related experience, and location. In addition, we offer an annual discretionary incentive bonus and competitive employee benefits including: medical, dental and vision coverage; life, accident and disability insurance.
