Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Engineer (Python/PySpark/Azure) for a Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role is part of a major Digital Transformation initiative within the Americas Division. The team is focused on modernizing technology and enhancing a data-driven approach to support a strategic data platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and developing data solutions on the Azure Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the active development of the data platform in close coordination with the internal team
  • Contribute to the establishment of a reference data system for securities and pricing data, and later expand to other data domains
  • Follow internal development standards to contribute to the overall agenda of the Data Strategy team
  • Implement solutions on the organization's Azure Cloud Platform
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Full stack Python/PySpark developer
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer with experience in Azure cloud
  • Experience implementing solutions using Azure cloud services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Lake Gen 2, Azure Databases, Azure Data Fabric, API Gateway management, and Azure Functions
  • Well versed with Azure Databricks
  • Strong SQL skills with RDBMS or NoSQL databases
  • Experience with developing APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks in Python
  • Familiarity with the DevOps lifecycle (git, Jenkins, etc) and CI/CD processes
  • Good understanding of ETL/ELT processes
Desired skills:
  • Experience in financial services industry, financial instruments, asset classes and market data are a plus
Pay range: $59.02 - $63.02 per Hour
