Job Description
We are seeking a Data Domain Governance Lead to embed robust data governance practices across Agile delivery teams within the banking domain. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in enterprise data architecture, metadata and lineage management, privacy compliance, and data quality engineering and a proven ability to operationalize governance guardrails within SAFe Agile delivery, ensuring audit-ready data ecosystems.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure governance guardrails are incorporated during PI Planning and reflected in Agile Features.
- Serve as System Architect and Shared Services SME to support ARTs in embedding governance principles.
- Guide Agile Teams on integrating governance into delivery workflows and feature design.
- Collaborate with business and SOR stakeholders to define and maintain domain-level canonical data models.
- Review catalog metadata to confirm ownership, lineage, and clear business semantics for critical datasets.
- Support consistent data modeling practices and semantic layer alignment across teams.
- Translate EDM policies into domain-specific data quality rules and acceptance criteria.
- Embed automated data quality checks and validations into pipelines and Definitions of Done.
- Guide lineage capture and metadata tagging using tools such as Collibra, Informatica, Alation, or Microsoft Purview.
- Oversee PII and sensitive data classification, labeling, and handling per privacy regulations.
- Define and enforce archival and retention policies for domain data assets.
- Analyze audit findings to strengthen domain data controls and quality frameworks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of Treasury and/or Corporate Banking domains and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced data modeling across conceptual, logical, and physical layers for financial domains.
- Experience with semantic modeling for BI and analytics, including normalization and performance optimization.
- Hands-on proficiency with ERwin, PowerDesigner, or equivalent modeling tools.
- Background in enterprise data architecture and governance in SAFe Agile settings.
- Practical experience with metadata and lineage tools: Collibra, Informatica EDC, Alation, or Microsoft Purview.
- Deep understanding of data privacy regulations and local banking compliance standards.
- Experience implementing PII classification, sensitivity labeling, and access controls using enterprise tools.
- Knowledge of archival and retention policies for financial records and audit trails.
- Experience defining and implementing automated data quality rules and controls.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, and COBIT frameworks.
- Experience in large-scale financial institutions or treasury functions.
- Knowledge of data vault modeling and graph modeling for advanced use cases.
- Familiarity with data observability tools and practices for monitoring data health, lineage, and reliability.
