Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction.
  • Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of utility electrical distribution systems in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
  • Experience in electrical infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant fields.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of high-voltage substations, medium- or low-voltage electrical distribution systems, AC/DC systems, and associated power management or SCADA tools.
  • Experience working with data center equipment and environments (e.g., switchgear, generators, transformers, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g., structural, civil, IT/telecom, security, mechanical, architectural), and in prefabrication or modular construction.
  • Understanding of start-up and commissioning processes.

You generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians.With your technical expertise, you ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).

As a Data Center Services Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the field-level implementation and operational support of Google’s rapidly expanding data centers. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and commissioning of electrical distribution systems, ensuring projects are delivered safely, swiftly, and with high quality. This involves managing site-level electrical engineering issues, ensuring compliance with design standards and local regulations, supporting quality assurance, and providing technical guidance to vendor teams. We are looking for a communicator and collaborator who grows on construction sites and has experience with mechanical systems, ideally within mission-critical facilities, heavy industrial, oil and gas, or semiconductor industries.This role will be based in Arkansas or Tennessee.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities

  • Define data center system-level product architecture and research and development, while helping to develop operations and maintenance procedures for systems and processes.
  • Conduct engineering analysis and research designs and methods of data center equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure designs and installations meet requirements (e.g., predicted cooling, structural, operational concerns, etc.).
