JOB DESCRIPTION

Data Architect (GCP & Analytics Lead)

Midwest Vision Partners is seeking a Data Architect to serve as the organization's "Data Owner," bridging the gap between 3rd-party managed applications (EHR, ERP, CRM) and our internal analytics stack (GCP, BigQuery, Looker). You are responsible for designing the "Source of Truth," ensuring data integrity, and enforcing architecture standards that protect patient privacy while empowering business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Strategy

Data Governance & Integrity

  • Define and enforce data quality standards

  • Own the "Golden Record" definitions to ensure consistency across all Looker dashboards

Analytics Engineering

  • Innovative management of the Look ML layer

  • Translate complex healthcare business logic into reusable, version-controlled code

Security & Compliance (HIPAA)

  • Implement and monitor IAM (Identity and Access Management) within GCP

  • Ensure all architecture adheres to strict patient data privacy regulations

Vendor Management

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with software vendors to ensure API stability and reliable data extraction

Required Qualifications

Education

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent

Technical Stack

  • Experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, and Looker (LookML certification highly preferred)

  • Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and other similar technologies is a plus

Experience

  • 7+ years in Data Engineering/Architecture; 3+ years in Healthcare (HL7/FHIR experience is a strong plus)

Leadership

  • Proven ability to correct poor data practices and guide executive stakeholders toward scalable solutions

Compensation & Benefits

The annual compensation for this role is $140,000 – $170,000, plus a discretionary bonus. Base pay will be determined based on individual factors, including experience, qualifications, and relevant skills. It is uncommon for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the pay range.

MVP offers a competitive benefits package, including:

  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match

  • Flexible spending accounts (FSA)
