Description:

Title: Data Architect

Employment: Fulltime

Newark, NJ (3 days/week)

 

Strong hands‑on expertise in:

o AWS: S3, Glue, Lake Formation, Redshift, EMR, IAM

o Microsoft Fabric: Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Real‑Time Analytics

o Microsoft Purview: Catalog, Lineage, Glossary

o Ataccama: DQ, MDM/RDM, profiling

· Deep understanding of metadata standards, lineage frameworks, DQ methodologies, MDM/RDM.

· Experience designing event‑driven and API‑first architectures.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

 

Architecture Standards & Governance 

· Define and maintain standards for conceptual, logical, and physical data models. 

· Establish enterprise metadata, lineage, and data quality standards across Purview, Ataccama, Fabric, and AWS Glue. 

· Set API/event/Integration contract standards for cross‑domain data exchange. 

· Enforce conformance to enterprise governance and security principles. 

 

Blueprints & Reference Architecture 

· Build and maintain unified enterprise data architecture with blueprints. 

· Create domain data flow maps, cross‑domain interaction diagrams, and canonical patterns. 

· Align AWS, Azure, Fabric, Cloud, On-prem ecosystems under a unified architectural framework. 

 

Reusable Patterns & Engineering Enablement 

· Develop reusable patterns for AWS (Glue, EMR, Redshift, IAM, S3), Azure/Fabric (Container Services, Functions, Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse). 

· Design event‑driven, API‑driven, batch, and ML/AI‑ready architecture patterns. 

· Provide templates for data contracts, schema evolution, and data‑sharing interfaces. 

 

Metadata, Lineage & Data Quality Integration 

· Define integration patterns for Purview, Ataccama, Fabric OneLake catalog, and AWS Glue Catalog. 

· Ensure patterns embed security, observability, monitoring, and operational resiliency. 

 

Domain Engagement & Architecture Review 

· Guide domain teams in implementing target‑state architectures. 

· Lead or participate in architecture reviews to ensure alignment with enterprise blueprint. 

· Recommend modernization opportunities and influence strategic architecture direction.
