What Youll Do:
As a D/E Adult Surgical/Operating Room Tech, you will be an integral part of our perioperative team, supporting various surgical procedures in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center. Your role includes preparing operating rooms, assisting during surgeries, and ensuring patient safety and sterile techniques are maintained throughout diverse cases, including trauma, orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, vascular, GYN, and bariatrics. You will work primarily during days and evenings, with shifts consisting of 8 or 12 hours to fit your schedule.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years recent operating room experience within the last 4 years
- Experience working in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center or equivalent large acute care hospital
- Proficiency in scrub role across multiple specialties, including trauma, orthopedics, general, ENT, vascular, GYN, and bariatrics
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
- Must pass pre-employment health clearance
- Strong understanding of sterile techniques and patient safety protocols
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience working in a teaching hospital environment
- Exposure to pediatric surgical cases
- Additional certifications in specialized surgical procedures
- Familiarity with hospital electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
- At least 3 years of recent OR experience in a comparable facility
- Experience with trauma and emergency surgeries in a high-volume setting
Other Requirements:
- Working shifts include days and evenings; specific shift times are 07:00-15:30, 11:00-19:30, 15:00-23:30, 07:00-19:30, and 11:00-23:30
- No first assist duties permitted in New York State
- Travel and other reimbursements available when applicable
- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism
- No suspension or investigation of professional license or certification

Hourly Pay Rate: $54.81
