CVOR CERTIFIED SURGICAL FIRST ASSISTANT

Job Title: Surgical First Assistant – Surgical Services

Rate: Up to $2650.00 weekly

Location: Atlanta, GA

Day Shift (12H)

13 or 26-week contract

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Graduate from an accredited surgical first assistant program.

Experience

• Requires 5 years of recent CVOR Surgical First Assistant experience.
• Cardiac, Vascular, Endovascular, Thoracic experience & CSFA, NBSTSA or NCCSA
• Proven experience as a Certified Surgical First Assistant.

Licenses/Certifications

• Current certification as a Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) in the state of employment.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the positioning, prepping, and draping of patients for surgical procedures.
• Follow established surgical techniques during the operation under the direct supervision of the surgeon.
• Ensure all equipment is properly always sterilized and maintain a sterile field.
• Provide retraction, suturing, and other technical functions during surgery.
• Perform wound management and secure drains and tubes.
• Prepare and apply dressings under the direction of the surgeon.
• Assist in the immediate postoperative care of the patient as directed by the surgeon.
• Follow established healthcare protocols and safety standards.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and respect patient’s rights.
