Leadership and Professional Development
You will report directly to a supportive Vice President of Finance who encourages growth, innovation, and collaboration across departments. The strong commitment to continuing education ensures you are positioned for success in resolving complex customs and trade compliance issues. This is a new role, and it is likely you will be growing a team once this program is established.
What you will be doing:
·As the Customs and Trade Compliance Manager, you will shape the future of their customs and tariffs compliance function, ensuring their operations align with evolving trade regulations.
·Your responsibilities include establishing customs compliance processes, overseeing tariff management strategies, and optimizing their trade operations, which provides an opportunity to be at the forefront of compliance innovation.
·Duty Drawback Strategy & Oversight, to maximize financial recovery while maintaining audit readiness
·Conduct financial impact analysis and scenario modeling, including quantifying tariff exposure by product, country and volume.
·Compliance, Audits & external partner management: serve as primary liaison with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, work with customs brokers, oversee customs bonds and ensure audit readiness
·Tariff, classification & origin governance, including accurate HTS classification, country-of-origin determination, and establishing classification governance
·Foreign trade zone evaluation & implementation
What they are looking for:
●Expertise in customs and trade compliance: Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
●5-10 years of experience in customs/trade compliance
●Adept with intricacies of tariff management and compliance execution, including working with HTS classification, duty drawback, FTZ operations
●Experience with financial modeling: Ability to simulate the financial impacts of tariff changes.
●Working knowledge of SAP or equivalent trade compliance tools is a plus
●BS in Finance, International Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
●Licensed custom broker would be excellent
