Customer Service Associate (Temp-to-Perm)
Location: Warren, RI (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $23–$26 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
A growing manufacturing company in Warren, RI is seeking a Customer Service Associate to join their team. This role serves as the primary point of contact between customers and internal teams, helping manage orders, coordinate delivery schedules, and ensure overall customer satisfaction in a highly regulated environment.
This is a temporary position with the potential to convert to a permanent role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Support & Communication
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned customers
- Respond to inquiries regarding orders, delivery status, and general requests
- Maintain professional and timely communication with customers and internal teams
Order & Contract Management
- Process customer purchase orders and quotes within ERP systems
- Ensure accuracy of pricing, terms, and delivery commitments
- Monitor order backlog and communicate demand changes
Delivery Coordination
- Work closely with operations, planning, and supply chain teams
- Track delivery schedules and proactively communicate delays
- Support expediting efforts for priority orders
Pricing & Quote Support
- Assist with RFQs and proposal preparation
- Support pricing reviews and data analysis
- Provide historical pricing and volume information as needed
Relationship Management
- Build strong customer relationships
- Support account growth initiatives
- Understand customer priorities and future demand
Data & Reporting
- Maintain accurate customer records and order status
- Generate reports on backlog and delivery performance
- Support internal and customer review meetings
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with engineering, quality, finance, and operations teams
- Participate in production and planning meetings
- Follow ITAR and regulatory compliance requirements
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years of customer service or related experience
- Prior ERP system experience required
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Local to Rhode Island or able to commute onsite
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
- Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or defense environments
- Experience supporting OEM or industrial customers
Work Environment
- Onsite position in Warren, RI
- Office and light manufacturing environment
- Must be comfortable working in a regulated (ITAR) environment
- Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 10 lbs.)
Additional Details
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break (typically 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM)
- Background check and education verification required
- Drug screening required upon conversion to permanent employee
- Candidates must meet ITAR requirements and be eligible to work with export-controlled information
