Job Description

Aramark Facilities Management is seeking a Custodial Supervisor to lead day-to-day custodial operations at Houston Christian University. This is a high-visibility, day-shift leadership role responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards across campus while actively supporting students, faculty, and staff during peak hours.
 
 
This position plays a critical role in ensuring the campus remains clean, safe, and presentable throughout the day. Unlike overnight roles, the supervisor will be working in real time alongside campus activity, requiring strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
 
 
The Custodial Supervisor serves as the bridge between frontline custodial teams and management, ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and consistently executed.
 
 
Shift: 7:00 AM ? 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

Lead Daily Operations
Supervise custodial staff and assign work to ensure full campus coverage during the day. Maintain consistent execution across all areas.

Develop the Team
Train, coach, and support employees to meet performance expectations. Provide direct feedback and address performance issues when needed. Support onboarding of new hires.

Ensure Quality Standards
Inspect classrooms, restrooms, and common areas to confirm cleanliness and safety. Identify gaps and take immediate corrective action. Own service quality for the shift.

Support Campus Needs
Act as a visible point of contact for students, faculty, and staff. Respond to requests and resolve issues in real time. Build strong working relationships across campus.

Manage Operations
Coordinate schedules and staffing to maintain efficiency. Communicate priorities, risks, and updates to leadership. Support events and additional service needs.

Oversee Supplies and Equipment
Monitor inventory and distribute materials as needed. Track equipment condition and report repair needs. Ensure proper use of all tools.

Maintain Safety and Compliance
Enforce safety standards and procedures. Ensure adherence to cleaning protocols and workplace requirements. Provide support during emergencies or disruptions.

This role is accountable for delivering a consistent, high-quality campus environment while leading a team that supports daily operations and long-term service standards.

Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Must be physically able to lift, lower, push and pull objects up to 50 lb. unassisted
  • Ability to stand, climb, bend, stoop and crouch for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to initiate and maintain good customer and co-worker relationships in a team environment
  • Demonstrates good written and verbal skills and can follow oral or written instructions and directions
  • Bi-lingual preferred (English and Spanish)
  • Demonstrates strong customer service, interpersonal skills and attention to detail
