Sr. Cleanroom Project Manager - MEP Construction Owners Rep (Boise, Idaho)

Department: Cleanroom Construction/MEP

Location: Boise, Idaho

Duration: 1-year Contract-to-Hire

Work Model: On-site

Number of Openings: 2

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CSA (Cleanroom, Shell, and Administrative) Cleanroom Senior Project Manager to serve as Owner's Representative for semiconductor fabrication facility construction projects in Boise, Idaho. This senior-level position requires comprehensive expertise in cleanroom construction delivery, project controls, and semiconductor manufacturing facility requirements. The PM/PC (Project Manager/Project Controls) will lead complex, multi-million-dollar cleanroom buildouts from design through commissioning.

This is a high-visibility position reporting to senior construction leadership with direct impact on our company's manufacturing capacity expansion. You will work on cutting-edge fabrication facilities that produce DRAM and NAND flash memory products powering everything from smartphones to data centers.

Primary Responsibilities

As the Senior Project Manager, you will serve as the primary representative for all CSA cleanroom construction activities, providing strategic oversight and tactical execution of fabrication facility projects.

You will manage the complete project lifecycle including planning, design coordination, procurement, construction execution, commissioning, and handover to operations.

Lead cross-functional project teams including architects, engineers, general contractors, specialty cleanroom contractors, and internal company stakeholders.

Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar tools, ensuring critical path activities align with semiconductor tool installation and production ramp timelines.

Oversee project budgets ranging from $50M to $500M+, implementing cost controls, tracking expenditures, forecasting variances, and managing change orders.

Direct cleanroom construction activities include raised access floors, ceiling grid systems, wall panel installation (hardwall/softwall), lighting systems, HVAC supply/return plenums, and process support infrastructure.

Ensure all work complies with ISO 14644 cleanroom standards, SEMI specifications, and Micron's facility standards.

Coordinate integration between CSA scope and MEP/process tool installation teams to maintain schedule alignment and minimize conflicts.

Manage design reviews and constructability analyses, providing owner input on architectural and engineering deliverables.

Review and approve contractor submittals, RFIs, and deviation requests with focus on cleanroom performance, contamination control, and operational requirements.

Lead risk identification and mitigation planning, develop recovery strategies for schedule impacts, and escalate critical issues to executive leadership.

Project Controls Responsibilities

Establish and maintain project controls framework including cost management systems, schedule baseline development, progress tracking metrics, and earned value analysis.

Generate executive-level reporting on project health including schedule performance indices, cost performance indices, forecast at completion, and risk registers.

Conduct regular progress meetings with contractors and internal teams, tracking action items and deliverables.

Implement quality assurance/quality control protocols specific to cleanroom construction including particle count verification, air flow testing, pressure differential validation, and surface cleanliness inspection.

Coordinate FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) for cleanroom systems prior to tool installation.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field

Minimum 10-12 years of construction project management experience with at least 7 years in cleanroom or semiconductor facility construction

Demonstrated success managing projects exceeding $100M in value

Expert knowledge of cleanroom design, construction methods, and contamination control principles

Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and construction management software platforms

Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and facility requirements

Experience with ISO 14644 cleanroom standards and SEMI facility specifications

Proven ability to manage multiple contractors and complex stakeholder environments

Advanced knowledge of project controls methodologies including CPM scheduling, cost tracking, and earned value management

Excellent communication skills with ability to present to executive leadership

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or MBA

Professional certifications: PMP, CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or PE license

Previous experience as owner's representative for semiconductor companies (Intel, Samsung, TSMC, GlobalFoundries, etc.)

Familiarity with Micron's facility standards and construction processes

Experience with advanced technology node fabrication construction (300mm wafer fabs, sub-7nm processes)

Knowledge of design-build and CMAR (Construction Manager at Risk) delivery methods

Background in commissioning and qualification protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ)

Experience with sustainability initiatives and LEED certification for industrial facilities

Key Competencies

Strategic thinking with ability to balance technical requirements, cost, and schedule

Strong leadership and team building capabilities across diverse project teams

Exceptional problem-solving skills with focus on risk mitigation

Detail-oriented approach to quality and compliance

Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing priorities

Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities

Owner's perspective mindset with focus on long-term operational success

Working Conditions

This position requires significant time on active construction sites including cleanroom environments with full gowning protocols.

Work environment includes both office-based planning activities and field presence for inspections, coordination meetings, and issue resolution.

Flexibility for extended hours during critical construction phases, commissioning activities, and production ramp support.

Some travel may be required to support other Micron facilities or vendor locations.
