Key Responsibilities

As the Credit Risk Manager, you will lead credit decisioning and portfolio risk management across a large B2B customer base:

• Manage a team of up to five credit analysts/administrators; set priorities, coach, and develop talent
• Oversee customer onboarding, credit reviews, and ongoing risk assessment; set and adjust credit limits within authority
• Review financial statements, credit bureau data, and trade references to determine creditworthiness
• Own the corporate credit policy—maintain, update, and recommend changes to senior leadership
• Define and track SLAs/KPIs; monitor portfolio health, dispute drivers, and delinquency trends
• Build or refine credit scoring models and decision frameworks; drive automation where possible
• Partner closely with Collections to escalate high‑risk accounts and recommend reserves/bad debt write‑offs
• Liaise with Sales/Field Operations to align terms with commercial strategy while mitigating risk
• Manage relationships with credit reporting agencies; oversee UCC filings and guarantees as needed
• Support SOX/internal controls, audits, documentation standards, and periodic testing
• Lead process improvements across credit investigations, reviews, and order release workflows
• Provide clear, data‑driven recommendations to leadership on risk exposure and portfolio actions

The Credit Risk Manager will be a visible change agent, strengthening policies, improving cycle time, and enhancing decision quality.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Finance, Accounting) or equivalent experience
• 5+ years in corporate credit/credit analysis with B2B portfolios; leadership experience required
• Proven ability to read and interpret complex financial statements and contracts
• Experience establishing credit limits, risk ratings, and bad debt reserves
• Familiarity with AS400 or large ERP systems; credit scoring/automation experience is a plus
• Working knowledge of UCC filings, personal guarantees, and credit bureau data
• Strong Excel/data analysis skills; able to translate analytics into clear recommendations
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management—the Credit Risk Manager must influence cross‑functionally
• Process‑improvement mindset with success institutionalizing policies, SOPs, and controls
• Background in distribution/manufacturing or multi‑location businesses preferred; PE environment a plus
