Job Title: Communications Specialist (Audio Video Technician)
Work Location: New York, NY 10001 (100% Onsite)
Duration of Assignment: 6+ Months
Pay Rate Range: $40.00 - $52.00/hr on W2
Job Description:
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Audio Video Technician to support the AV infrastructure of a dynamic, multi-floor corporate headquarters. This role involves maintaining and operating AV systems across digital signage networks, event spaces, live production control rooms, and conference facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
AV System Support & Maintenance
• Install, configure, and maintain AV equipment including projectors, displays, speakers, microphones, video conferencing systems, and control panels.
• Monitor and maintain digital signage systems across multiple floors.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on AV systems.
Event & Live Production Support
• Provide technical support for corporate events, town halls, and live broadcasts.
• Operate video switchers, audio mixers, lighting controls, and streaming platforms in production control rooms.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless event execution.
Troubleshooting & Technical Assistance
• Respond to AV-related service requests and incidents promptly.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues across AV systems.
• Provide on-site support for executive meetings and high-profile events.
Documentation & Inventory
• Maintain accurate records of AV setups, configurations, and maintenance logs.
• Track inventory of AV equipment and recommend upgrades or replacements as needed.
Collaboration & Training
• Work closely with IT, Facilities, and Communications teams to support integrated technologies.
• Train end-users on AV system usage and best practices.
Qualifications:
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, IT, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in corporate AV support or live event production.
• Proficiency with AV technologies such as Crestron, Extron, QSC, Dante, Zoom Rooms, and digital signage platforms.
• Strong understanding of signal flow, networking basics, and AV over IP.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift and move equipment and work flexible hours as needed.
Preferred Certifications:
• CTS (Certified Technology Specialist)
• Crestron or Extron programming certifications
• Dante Level 1 or higher
