Crane Technician

Butterfly Staffing is seeking a Crane Technician for a growing, well-established equipment service company in the Hampton Roads area. This is a hands-on field role working with a variety of crane systems, offering long-term stability, training, and the opportunity to build specialized expertise in crane maintenance and repair.

If you have a strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting background, this is an excellent opportunity to break into or grow within the crane industry.

Position Overview

The Crane Technician will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various crane systems, including overhead, tower, port, and mobile (pick-and-carry) cranes.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving in the field, working with industrial equipment, and continuing to develop technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on crane systems
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in industrial equipment
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure equipment reliability
• Work safely at heights (20+ feet) and in various field environments
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in industrial electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting
• Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics
• Comfortable working at heights (20+ feet)
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and integrity
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with good communication skills

Preferred (Not Required)

• Prior experience working on cranes or lifting equipment
• Experience in heavy equipment, industrial maintenance, or field service roles
