Butterfly Staffing is supporting a growing service provider in the lifting equipment space seeking a hands-on Crane Technician. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience who is open to learning crane systems. Direct crane experience is a plus, but not required. The company will train the right person.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on various crane types
    (Overhead, Tower, Port, Pick & Carry)
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Replace or repair components as needed to keep equipment operational
  • Work safely at heights (20+ feet)
  • Document service and maintenance work performed
  • Communicate effectively with team and customers in the field

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • This role requires 24/7 on-call availability for service needs
  • Technicians may be called out for evening, overnight, or weekend repairs as needed
  • Opportunity for overtime (up to ~15–20 hours/week depending on workload)
  • Example: occasional weekend service calls (e.g., ~4 hours on a Saturday)

Equipment & Travel

  • Company vehicle/truck provided for certain roles or assignments
  • Per diem offered for travel assignments, where applicable
  • Overtime available and paid for after-hours and call-out work

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in industrial electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and integrity
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Experience working on cranes or lifting equipment
  • Background in industrial maintenance, heavy equipment, or field service
  • Familiarity with hydraulics, motors, controls, or VFDs
