About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our Columbus crew and operate mobile and truck-mounted cranes for commercial construction, industrial maintenance, and recovery projects across the region. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, technically proficient with crane controls and rigging, and comfortable coordinating lifts with riggers, signalpersons, and site supervisors.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate mobile cranes and truck-mounted cranes to perform lifts on construction sites, industrial facilities, and recovery jobs throughout Columbus and surrounding areas
• Inspect cranes, hoists, slings, and rigging gear before and after each shift, documenting issues and coordinating maintenance as needed
• Plan lifts with crew, assess load weights and center of gravity, select proper rigging points, and set up outriggers and stabilizers for safe operation
• Follow load charts and manufacturer specifications to ensure safe lifting capacities and comply with jobsite safety plans
• Work closely with riggers and signalpersons, using hand signals and radio communication to execute precise lifts in confined or complex environments
• Respond to emergency towing and recovery assignments as required, performing safe recovery lifts and vehicle handling
• Maintain accurate job logs, pre-operation checklists, and equipment inspection records

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating mobile cranes, truck-mounted cranes, or similar heavy lifting equipment
• Valid CDL Class A or B ,clean driving record and ability to pass DOT background checks
• Proven knowledge of load charts, rigging practices, and safe crane operation procedures
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic equipment inspections and troubleshooting
• Comfortable working at heights and in variable weather conditions; able to lift and handle rigging gear as required

Preferred Skills And Certifications

• NCCCO certification  
• Rigging or signalperson certification
• OSHA safety training and familiarity with industry best practices for heavy lifting and jobsite safety
• Experience with heavy haul, recovery towing, or municipal/industrial lift operations in the Columbus market
