Qualifications:
General Maintenance Technician - Central Utility Plant

Minimum Qualifications (Required)
High school diploma or GED.
Interest in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or facilities maintenance work.
Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team.
Ability to safely use basic hand tools and follow instructions.

Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications
Prior hands-on experience or coursework in maintenance trades.
Familiarity with industrial or commercial facilities.
Mechanical aptitude and interest in technical systems.
Dependable work habits and strong communication skills.
Ideal for candidates from construction, warehouse, automotive, military, or trade school backgrounds.

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical & Equipment Support
Assist with inspections and monitoring of pumps, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and related equipment.
Support preventive maintenance activities including lubrication, filter changes, belt adjustments, cleaning, and general upkeep.
Record equipment readings (pressure, temperature, flow, amperage) and report abnormal conditions.

Electrical & Controls Assistance
Perform basic electrical tasks such as lamp replacement and tightening connections under supervision.
Assist with lockout/tagout procedures and routine electrical checks.

Plumbing & Building Maintenance
Assist with basic plumbing repairs involving domestic water systems, valves, drains, and hydronic piping.
Support minor carpentry and general building maintenance tasks such as drywall patching, door hardware replacement, painting, and equipment room upkeep.

Safety, Housekeeping & Team Support
Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and material handling equipment.
Follow all site safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
Communicate safety concerns or equipment issues promptly.
Perform other duties as assigned.
