Coverage Litigation Attorney

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid Flexibility)
Full-Time

The Role

We are seeking a Coverage Attorney with 4–8 years of experience in insurance coverage counseling and/or litigation. This role offers the opportunity to handle sophisticated commercial coverage matters while maintaining hands-on responsibility in active litigation.

You will work directly with insurance carrier clients on advisory and litigation matters involving complex commercial lines claims.

Responsibilities

Analyze and interpret commercial insurance policies

Counsel insurers regarding coverage positions and risk exposure

Draft coverage opinions and reservation of rights letters

Handle coverage litigation from inception through resolution

Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, and legal memoranda

Conduct depositions, hearings, and court appearances

Manage cases independently while collaborating with senior attorneys as needed

Qualifications

4–8 years of insurance coverage and/or insurance defense experience

Strong background representing insurers in coverage disputes

Commercial lines experience strongly preferred

Experience drafting motions, coverage opinions, and litigation memoranda

Ability to manage files independently from intake through resolution

Active DC Bar admission required (VA and/or MD admission a plus)
