Full Time, Non-Exempt, $17.50/hr

Job Summary

Provides an array of services in support of Blood Services operations. Including transportation, delivery, and supply management to support Connectlife. 

Essential Job Functions

1. Load, drive, and unload delivery vehicles to and from hospitals, mobile blood drives, and fixed sites.  Entails transporting blood and blood products to the hospital blood banks along with returning the empty transport containers from previous deliveries. 
2. Transport supplies from the blood bank to blood collections staging site.  Deliver supplies as needed to the fixed donation centers, mobile sites, and hospitals.
3. Performs inventory control for blood services based on usage. Rotates stock as needed based on expiration dates.
4. Logs in and inspects supplies received and maintains quarantine status as applicable. 
5. Maintains all receipts of supplies received and enters information into inventory system. 
6. Assists in Blood Services operation tasks as needed in down time.
7. Stays in communication by consistently checking emails and mailboxes.
    

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
  
  

Experience:

• 1 year customer service experience required.
• Prior driving experience preferred.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Must be adaptable to change, detail oriented, and highly organized with the ability to think critically and multi-task while maintaining focus and accuracy through interruptions.
• Must be reliable and self-motivated with a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Must have a valid and clean NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation.  Travel required.
   

Required Physical Demands:

• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, and kneeling.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 25lbs.        Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent reaching forward.  Occasional reaching lateral and overhead.
• Frequent clarity of vision at near and/or far distances.
