We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Analyst Consultant to support financial planning, cost estimation, and performance tracking across key projects. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, advanced Excel expertise, and experience with Earned Value Analysis (EVA). The ideal consultant brings both technical proficiency and the ability to clearly communicate insights to leadership and cross-functional teams.

Pay Range: $45-47/hr
Engagement Duration: ~6 months
What’s the Job?
- Conduct detailed cost analysis, forecasting, and budgeting for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Develop and maintain cost models, dashboards, and automated reporting tools using Excel, including Power Query.
- Perform Earned Value Analysis (EVA) to evaluate cost and schedule performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project management, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment on cost baselines and financial targets.
- Assist in developing work breakdown structures (WBS) and cost breakdown structures (CBS).
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in cost analysis, project controls, financial analysis, or a related consulting capacity.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, and Power Query.
- Hands-on experience conducting Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and interpreting EVA metrics (CPI, SPI, EAC, VAC, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in cost control, such as from the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of or exposure to Primavera P6 for project scheduling and cost integration.
- Additional relevant AACE certifications (e.g., CCP – Certified Cost Professional, CEP – Certified Estimating Professional, EVP – Earned Value Professional).
- Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, construction, or capital projects (sector-specific optional).
