Cost Accountant Position Summary

Salary Range: $80,000- $90,000

Reporting to the Plant Controller, the Cost Accountant is responsible for the preparation and analysis of accounting reports related to manufacturing processing.

The Cost Accountant position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures, and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed to reduce product and process variability.

Duties and Responsibilities of Cost Accountant position

• Responsible for the execution and accuracy of operating reporting throughout the month (trend, plant performance, consumption, labor, etc.)
• Monitor order variances throughput the month and act as a liaison between production and accounting to resolve discrepancies.
• Responsible for monitoring inventories to ensure their accuracy. Activities include periodic cycle counts, researching and posting variances, monitoring SAP material movements and process order variances.
• The Cost Accountant will prepare and maintain standard cost estimates.
• Assist in the completion of the month-end close (journal entries, order settlement, monthly variance reporting, KPI reporting).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Qualifications of Cost Accountant

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance is preferred
• Cost Accounting experience preferred
• MS Office Excel
• ERP experience
• Excellent oral and written communications skills to effectively interact with others
• Highly motivated individual able to work in fast-paced environment
