Cosmetology Instructor

Berks Career & Technology Center (BCTC) is searching for a motivated Cosmetology Instructor that has a passion for educating, motivating, mentoring, and coaching future Cosmetologists. The ideal candidate’s primary responsibility is to lead their students towards developing the skills required to pass the State Board of Cosmetology licensing exam prior to graduation in a collaborative and positive classroom environment.

Qualifications:

• Pennsylvania State Cosmetology Teacher License is required
• Pennsylvania Department of Education certification in Cosmetology/Cosmetologist, General, CIP Code: 12.0401 (Occupational Competency Area: Cosmetology 2023) or eligibility to obtain certification
• Minimum four years of full-time, wage-earning cosmetology experience beyond the training period
• Strong technical, communication, organization, and classroom management skills

Work schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–3:15 p.m. (7¾ hours/day), 10-months (190 days). Includes six evening functions annually and two extended faculty meetings per month.
