About the Role:

We’re looking for a creative, strategic thinker with a passion for storytelling to join our Corporate Visual
team as a Visual Merchandising Lead in City of Industry, Los Angeles. As an owner-operated company,
everything we do is inspired by our founder’s vision and values - brought to life through our products, our
store environments, and every interaction with our customers. At our core, we are storytellers, and every
display, detail, and space we create is an opportunity to tell a meaningful story and invite our customers into
it.

In this role, you’ll bring those stories to life - translating ideas into visual experiences that feel thoughtful,
personal, and authentic, and creating moments in our stores that inspire, connect, and leave a lasting
impression.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with Buying, Merchandising, Design, and Store Operations teams to align visual execution
with business priorities and sales objectives
• Develop and lead story-driven visual strategies that elevate and express the Brighton brand in-store
• Collaborate closely with the Visual Manager to guide, develop, and inspire the Visual Merchandising
team
• Translate store feedback, field insights, and spatial challenges into thoughtful, strategic visual
solutions
• Concept and execute floor sets for product launches, seasonal collections, and brand initiatives with
a strong narrative point of view
• Adapt visual direction across diverse store formats while maintaining consistency and brand integrity
• Create elevated, clear visual guidelines that ensure consistent storytelling across all locations
• Help inspire the Visual team, setting a high standard for creativity, collaboration, and execution
• Support key business events - including sales meetings and other corporate events, ensuring visual
storytelling remains impactful and cohesive
• Stay inspired by stepping into stores and exploring the retail landscape - seeking out beautiful
moments, thoughtful details, fixtures, and fresh ideas, to gather insights, identify opportunities, and
translate inspiration into actionable improvements in visual storytelling
• Partner with Merchandising and Planning to review performance of visual initiatives and identify
opportunities to improve sales and customer engagement
Assistant Visual Merchandising Manager - Brighton

Core Competencies:

• Exceptional ability to translate brand vision into story-driven visual experiences
• Strong creative direction, spatial awareness, and design sensibility
• Ability to think strategically while executing operationally
• Excellent project management skills and ability to juggle multiple initiatives
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to influence without direct authority
• High adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Strong analytical mindset to connect visual storytelling with business outcomes
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications:

• 5-10+ years of retail experience, including 2+ years in Visual Merchandising leadership
• Experience developing and executing story-focused Visual Merchandising strategies
• Portfolio demonstrating creative concepting and impactful execution, especially in storytelling
displays
• Passion for design and creating emotional connections through visual presentation
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Adobe Suite and other visual merchandising tools and presentation
platforms

What Sets You Apart:

• You are energized by telling brand stories through visual displays
• You balance creative vision with operational feasibility, ensuring stories are both inspiring and
executable
• You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and can influence multiple stakeholders
• You take ownership and accountability, especially in an owner-operated company
• You bring a solutions-oriented mindset and a passion for creating meaningful customer experiences

Culture & Environment

creative laboratory, where ideas are nurtured, tested, and refined before reaching stores. As an owneroperated company, we value agility, ownership, and personal connection - giving you the opportunity to

About the Company

B

Brighton Collectibles

This may not be a true fairytale, but it's as close to one as real life gets. Once upon a time, in the late 1960s, there were two high-school sweethearts living in the San Gabriel Valley east of Los Angeles – Jerry Kohl and Terri Kravitz (who is now Terri Kohl). They met, fell in love and started their own specialty store while they were still in high school. Each day when class ended, they opened their store selling T-shirts and leather goods to their classmates. After graduating in 1969, they operated their store full-time.

In the next chapter, as storeowners, they experienced the challenges small stores face, such as getting merchandise delivered on time. Jerry had ideas for improving things. Coincidentally, a couple named Lee and Ginny, vendors of theirs who owned a business that made belts, handbags and sandals out of a warehouse in Redondo Beach, California wanted to phase themselves out of their business. A short two years later, Lee and Ginny decided to sell their company in order to realize their dream of living in New Zealand where the surf was better! So, at age 19, Jerry bought into their company, Leegin, and set out to fill their shoes supplying specialty stores with leather goods (while Lee and Ginny traded their shoes for fins!).
