We are seeking a highly experienced Consulting Corporate Counsel to join our dynamic team in the engineering industry. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of legal issues, providing advice and guidance to our executive team and various departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all legal matters, including corporate governance, intellectual property, contract negotiation, and compliance with laws and regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of corporate law and a strong ability to apply this knowledge in a practical, business-oriented way.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of corporate matters, including corporate governance, contract law, risk management, intellectual property, and compliance with laws and regulations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements, ensuring the company's interests are adequately protected.
- Develop and implement corporate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Act as a strategic advisor to the executive team, providing guidance on legal issues and potential risks.
- Manage relationships with external counsel, ensuring cost-effective and efficient use of their services.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company, and provide timely advice to the relevant teams.
- Participate in the formulation of general management policy as a member of the executive team.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate law, preferably in the engineering or related industry.
- Member in good standing of a state Bar.
- Proven experience in managing a wide range of corporate legal matters, including corporate governance, contract law, intellectual property, and compliance.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiation.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a pragmatic, business-oriented approach to legal issues.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in a clear and understandable way.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
- High level of professional ethics and integrity.
- Experience with international law and cross-border transactions would be an advantage.
