What Drives Success:The Corporate MIT (Manager in Training) Branch Manager Trainer is responsible for leading and developing the company’s Manager in Training program through a fully operational training branch located in Fort Lauderdale. This role will manage daily branch operations while serving as the primary trainer and mentor for all MIT participants. The Fort Lauderdale location will function as the centralized training hub where future branch managers receive hands-on operational, leadership, and technical training. This position plays a critical role in ensuring consistency, operational excellence, and leadership readiness across approximately 80 locations within the Fort Lauderdale market.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily operations of the Fort Lauderdale training branch while maintaining operational performance and service standards.
Directly supervise and lead a team of three technicians supporting branch operations and training activities.
Serve as the primary trainer and mentor for all Manager in Training (MIT) participants traveling to the Fort Lauderdale training location.
Deliver structured hands-on training covering branch operations, leadership development, service execution, and company processes.
Ensure all MIT participants are trained consistently according to corporate standards and operational best practices.
Evaluate MIT performance and provide feedback, coaching, and development plans to prepare candidates for branch leadership roles.
Maintain visibility into the progress and readiness of future branch managers within the program.
Partner with corporate leadership to continuously improve the MIT training curriculum and operational training standards.
Ensure the training branch operates as a fully functional model branch demonstrating best practices in service, leadership, and operational efficiency.
Support leadership development initiatives designed to strengthen the company’s future management pipeline.
Proven experience in branch management, operations leadership, or training and development roles.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop employees in an operational environment.
Strong understanding of service operations and branch management best practices.
Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
Ability to manage operational responsibilities while delivering structured training programs.
Strong organizational and performance management capabilities.
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent education from a two-year college or technical school
- 5+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- HVAC industry technical knowledge preferred
- The ability to train /teach in a classroom setting
- P&L Management Experience with successful track record preferred
- Ability to travel in local market on a regular basis; occasional overnight travel required
- Ability to climb ladders
- Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds)
- Computer skills; competent in MS Office software (Word and Excel)
- Must achieve NATE certification in first full year as Branch Manager
- EPA Certification: Type I and Type II or Universal Preferred

Compensation:
This is a salaried exempt role. The salary range for this role and market is between $70,000 - $80,000 annually. Factors that may affect the starting salary include geography/market and the individual’s tenure, performance, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual and monthly bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.
