Pay Range: $18.00 – $23.00 per hour

Needs: Must be ServSafe Certified. Must be able to work

8-hour shifts: 5:30am-2pm and 10:30am-7pm.

The Sisters of Mercy are seeking a dependable and experienced Per-Diem Cook II to support daily Vacations, and various scheduling needs for meal preparation in a mission-driven, community-focused environment. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality food, safe kitchen practices, and serving others and needs additional meaningful, part-time work.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and dietary needs

• Assist with food prep, baking, serving, and stocking

• Maintain cleanliness, food safety standards, and temperature logs

• Support dining room service for Sisters, employees, and guests

• Follow proper food rotation, storage, and sanitation procedures

• Step in as lead for the dietary department when the manager is not present

• Work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma

• Minimum of 3 years of food service or cooking experience

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and time management skills

• Comfortable operating kitchen and dishwashing equipment

• Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and respectful service

Preferred Experience

• Background in healthcare, residential, or faith-based settings

• Appreciation for mission-driven or community-focused organizations
