Summary
A Convenience Store Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in daily operations, focusing on supervising staff, managing inventory, and ensuring excellent customer service. Key responsibilities include training employees, handling cash, managing inventory, maintaining store cleanliness, and acting as manager on duty, particularly during evening or weekend shifts.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership: Supervising, training, and scheduling Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) and Kitchen staff. Must have understanding of duties associated with both the CSR and kitchen staff positions.
2. Operational Support: Opening/closing the store, conducting cash handling/reconciliation, and preparing deposits. Trouble shooting minor issues with till, internet and pumps as needed.
3. Inventory & Merchandising: Ordering supplies, receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and ensuring inventory accuracy. Processing invoices to verify costs and pricing are accurate.
4. Customer Experience: Resolving customer complaints and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment.
5. Compliance: Ensuring adherence to company policies, safety standards, and legal regulations regarding alcohol/tobacco sale
6. Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1. Experience: Previous retail, convenience store, or customer service experience, including merchandising and inventory,
2. Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and train staff.
3. Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays and 40+ hour weeks as needed.
4. Technical Skills: Proficiency with POS systems and inventory management software.
5. Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum Class C Certification and willingness to become Class B certified in monthly maintenance and reporting, and inspections of sumps and pumps.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is typically indoors, however periodic trip, while walking, to the oil warehouse will subject the employee too cold or hot outside air. The employee can expect a normal level of expected office noise with this position. The position is highly regulated by the federal and state government and the employee should expect to adjust and conform to any new regulations that affect this position or the company.
