Controller – Engineering Consulting

Salary: $145,000 – $155,000

Responsibilities of the Controller:

Core Accounting Leadership
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes with accuracy and timeliness
• Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Prepare financial statements, reporting packages, and variance analysis for leadership

Project Accounting & Financial Insights
• Manage project‑based accounting including job costing, revenue recognition, and project profitability
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning with project managers and engineering leaders

Operational Oversight
• Oversee billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Maintain strong internal controls and support audit and compliance initiatives

Process Optimization & Systems
• Identify opportunities to strengthen processes and improve system workflows
• Help optimize tools and reporting as the organization grows

Qualifications of the Controller:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• 3+ years of leadership or team‑management experience
• Experience in engineering, architecture, construction, or other project‑based professional services preferred
• Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience strongly preferred
