We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Permanent Controller for our Energy division. This position will play a pivotal role in the financial management of our Oil and Gas operations, providing strategic oversight and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our financial operations, including upstream, midstream, and downstream activities. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where new ideas are encouraged and collaboration is key.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting including 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K filings.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Additional controller duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to direct and supervise.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite or equivalent ERP systems.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP.
  • Experience with E&P and Advisory/Consulting roles.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proven experience in Public Accounting.
  • Experience in performing financial audits and ensuring compliance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently when necessary.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
