We are currently seeking a dynamic, experienced, and detail-oriented Permanent Controller to join our Accounting + Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial operations, including the development and management of budgets, preparation of financial statements, and ensuring that our accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Work closely with the executive management team to share reports and analysis findings.
  • Manage and mentor junior accounting staff.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification is Preferred but not Required
  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with creating financial statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
  • Experience in the construction industry or similar is preferred
  • Hands on with cloud based ERP systems such as NetSuite & Sage
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
