Control Room Operator

The LNG Control Room Operator will be responsible for monitoring and controlling process parameters of the LNG storage tank, pretreatment and liquefaction, and LNG truck filling operations using a computerized control system. They will operate plant equipment and perform routine checks to ensure safe and efficient operations. The operator will also collaborate with maintenance personnel to schedule preventative maintenance and repairs, maintain accurate logs, troubleshoot, and resolve issues, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Additionally, they will participate in emergency response drills and exercise and complete company-sponsored training as required.
Job Responsibilities
•Monitor and control the process parameters of the LNG storage tank, pretreatmentand liquefaction units, and LNG truck filling operations through a computerized control system.
•Operate the DCS controls systems for the LNG Operations.
•Operate all plant equipment required for the type of process in operation,liquefaction, trucking, and stand-by, as needed.
•Perform routine checks of equipment and processes to ensure safe and efficientoperations, including monitoring temperatures, pressures, and flow rates.
•Collaborate with operations and maintenance personnel to schedule and performnecessary preventative maintenance activities and repairs, while ensuring that alloperations are running smoothly and efficiently.
•Maintain accurate logs of equipment and process operations, as well as anymaintenance or repair activities.
•Takes equipment readings, interprets abnormal readings and alarms to take pre-designated corrective action including activation of emergency equipment andprocedures.
•Respond to alarms and take appropriate actions to troubleshoot and resolve any issues.
•Conduct safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and take corrective actions toprevent accidents or injuries.
•Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for safety,environmental, and operational performance.
•Conduct regular equipment and systems tests, and inspections to ensure reliability andavailability.
•Participate in emergency response drills and exercise and respond to actualemergencies as needed.
•Work without supervision on maintaining proper plant operation, security, andemergency equipment and procedures, notifies Supervision of any abnormalities.
•Complete company sponsored training as required.
•Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area ofassignment as would be acquired in four years of high school.
•Previous experience working in the LNG or industrial gases industry is highlypreferred, and experience in a PHMSA regulated LNG facility is a plus.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of LNG operations, including liquefaction,storage, and LNG truck loading operations.
•Experience in operating and maintaining LNG plant equipment.
•Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements related to LNGoperations.
•Proficient in analyzing equipment readings and promptly addressing alarms andabnormal conditions with precision.
•Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with otherteam members and departments.
•Ability to work independently and take responsibility for maintaining plant operationsand emergency equipment and procedures.
•Willingness to participate in emergency drills and exercises and respond to actualemergencies as needed.
•Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License at all times
Working Relationships
This position reports to the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Supervisor and provides guidance and direction to other plant personnel as it pertains to the operation of the facility.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical requirements include the possibility of standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Working with hazardous materials may be required. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
Work Schedule
Regular scheduled workdays are based on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule. Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.
