**Description** We are currently seeking a **Contract Supervisor** to join our team. This position will be responsible for monitoring schedule progress and assignments, maintaining adequate staffing levels, and monitoring project completion timelines. Supervisor will provide relevant assessments of job performance and abilities of the Lead CUFs and CUFs on a regular basis. Workers will be responsible to ensure internal company processes and policies are adhered to. + This person corresponds frequently and regularly with Avista's representatives.This person manages forestry personnel to support this Agreement, provides training for forestry personnel, meets with the third-party tree trimming company to solve issues and generally facilitate the relationship between the companies and personnel.This person ensures the accuracy, quality and professionalism of the staff who provide forestry planning services to Avista. The supervisor is responsible for providing weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on the progress of the project. This person should also be an ISA Certified Arborist and a Utility Specialist, preferably with the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification. + Worker is responsible for training new workers, auditing work for Q/A and Q/C. Worker shall possess the ability to plan and negotiate all work types, completes plans thoroughly and with a high level of accuracy. Worker can identify work sites that require traffic control with a high level of accuracy. Worker shall exhibit experience and skills required to negotiate complaint resolutions. + Perform safety oversight and training of staff to ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards + Contact property owners to discuss and obtain the required written permission to perform vegetation work where necessary. + Perform and document quality assurance (QA) inspections on contractor's work for compliance with scope of work, as well as the utilities and industry's specifications. + Conduct hazard tree assessments. + Communicate daily with the utility client, contractors, landowners, and the public. + Develop a comprehensive understanding of all relevant utilities and environmental standards and expectations. + Complete work summaries, updated QA reports and progress report updates weekly with a high level of detail. + Perform duties in a manner that will promote and maintain good public relations. + Willingness to work storm duty following catastrophic weather events that affect the Utility. + Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned. **WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:** + Minimum of 2-4 Years of experience in pre-notification and inspection of line-clearing work + Possess and maintain a current Certified Arborist certification and/or Utility Specialist and TRAQ from the ISA + Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to represent AMS and its services professionally and positively. + Must have strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, the ability to multi-task, and attention to detail. + Knowledge of common computer applications and ability to learn new programs. + Must be self-motivated, and able to work independently, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain. + Local tree identification skills. + Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) & other GIS systems. + Ability to work safely and independently in remote areas with limited supervision. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Ability to accurately read maps and judge spatial distances. + Valid driver's license and safe driving record. **WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE:** + Associate or bachelor's degree in forestry, Environmental Science, or related discipline preferred. + Prior experience with GIS Mapping Programs is a plus. + Having a strong team mentality, work ethic, and sense of pride in your work is a plus. + Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. **Working Environment** Work alone in an outdoor field environment; vehicle and foot patrol of utility power lines; remote locations as well as urban, and city environments; physical demands and travel from site to site, including walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills, and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions.
