The Construction Superintendent leads all on-site construction activities from mobilization through closeout—owning daily execution, site readiness, safety, quality, and a clean finish. This role requires confident jobsite command, disciplined production planning, strong technical judgment, and proactive communication to keep the Project Manager and leadership informed and free of surprises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all on-site activities from mobilization through closeout, owning daily execution, site readiness, and finish quality.
  • Command the jobsite with professionalism, consistency, and integrity—earning subcontractor respect without ego, favoritism, or shortcuts.
  • Maintain disciplined control of schedule, quality, cleanliness, organization, and trade coordination through steady leadership and clear standards.
  • Own safety as a daily standard; lead by example and enforce expectations consistently across all trades and site personnel.
  • Run effective pre-task planning; identify hazards, confirm controls, and reinforce safe sequencing of work.
  • Stop work when conditions are unsafe or work is out of sequence; correct issues immediately and document as required.
  • Protect production flow by building and driving 2–6 week look-aheads, daily plans, and crew sequencing.
  • Anticipate what is needed in advance (labor, access, material, equipment, information) and remove constraints early so trades can work efficiently.
  • Confirm manpower and deliveries; coordinate daily execution against plan and communicate impacts promptly.
  • Set craftsmanship and quality expectations; inspect early and often to prevent rework and finished defects.
  • Stop incorrect work before it becomes a finished defect; drive corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
  • Deliver a punch-ready project with urgency and pride; support turnover readiness, commissioning activities, and closeout execution.
  • Know drawings, specifications, and full project scope in depth; catch gaps, conflicts, and constructability issues early.
  • Use Procore and project documents to elevate issues quickly with workable options and recommendations.
  • Partner with the PM and project team to ensure questions are clarified early and field execution remains aligned to contract scope.
  • Plan and manage site logistics and organization: laydown, access, material handling, cleanliness, signage, protection, and jobsite order.
  • Maintain jobsite conditions that keep productivity, safety, and morale high.
  • Coordinate deliveries, staging, temporary controls, and protection to prevent damage and rework.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of field leadership experience in commercial construction, including superintendent responsibility through closeout.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead jobsite safety, trade coordination, logistics, and quality with disciplined daily execution.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents (drawings, specifications) and identify constructability conflicts early.
  • Experience building and driving 2–6 week look-aheads and daily crew sequencing to protect production flow.
  • Proficiency using construction technology and documentation tools (e.g., Procore or similar; email and basic productivity tools).
  • Proven track record of calm, mature decision-making under pressure and proactive communication with project stakeholders.
