Job Title: Construction Site Superintendent – High-Rise Residential Reconstruction
Location: New York City, NY

Type: Direct Hire

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Scope of Projects: up to $5M

Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Construction Site Superintendentwith experience in high-rise residential reconstruction and renovation projects. This position is ideal for a mid-level construction supervisor looking to take ownership of day-to-day field operations while working closely with project management to successfully deliver complex urban residential projects.

The Construction Site Superintendent will oversee and coordinate all phases of construction on site, including supervising subcontractors, managing daily operations, ensuring adherence to specifications, maintaining project schedules, and promoting a safe and organized work environment. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage reconstruction work within active residential buildings. We primarily service high end clientele. Project range in scope: $5M - $25M (reconstruction)

Construction Site Superintendent - Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide on-site coordination for all phases of high-rise residential reconstruction and renovation projects (high end clientele).
  • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the activities of work crews, subcontractors, and material deliveries.
  • Ensure all work is performed according to approved plans, specifications, policies, and project schedules.
  • Implement cost-effective project management strategies in the field.
  • Examine work for quality, precision, and conformance to project drawings and specifications.
  • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding work being performed.
  • Communicate with the project team regarding RFIs, material submittals, and field conditions.
  • Ensure subcontractors fully execute and comply with their contracted scope of work.
  • Identify subcontractor or worker non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Monitor construction progress, identify potential conflicts, and communicate them to the project team for resolution.
  • Maintain detailed daily logs of jobsite activities including daily reports, look-ahead schedules, progress photos, and checklists.
  • Walk all areas and floors on site daily to monitor work and assist in planning upcoming phases.
  • Lead weekly subcontractor coordination meetings to maintain project alignment and workflow.
  • Ensure the jobsite is maintained in a clean, safe, and organized manner at all times.
  • Maintain project documentation including approved submittals, drawings, and reports at the jobsite.
  • Open the jobsite at the beginning of the workday and secure the site at the end of the day.

Construction Site Superintendent - Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s degree or post-high school vocational or technical training is highly desired.
  • Supervisor SST Card (62 Hours) is required upon hire (NYC requirement)
  • At least two (2) years direct experience in leadership role overseeing residential and/or commercial high-rise construction
  • Solid computer skills must include basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience using Procore construction management software preferred – must have experience using another computerized construction management software.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, prints, diagrams, sketches, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate subcontractors and maintain productivity in complex jobsite environments.
