As a Project Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our projects through effective scheduling and planning. In this role, you will provide vital support for various construction projects by creating, preparing, and updating project schedules. As the primary scheduler, you will lead your direct reports while ensuring that the company’s interests are promoted and protected throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Create proposals and detailed construction schedules to support Marketing, Pre-Construction, and Operations teams.
- Visit job sites to monitor progress, update schedules, and provide actionable feedback to project teams regarding areas for improvement.
- Analyze market factors that may impact schedules, such as labor availability and weather patterns, providing necessary adjustments.
- Conduct detailed critical path analysis of problem projects, identifying root causes and coordinating solutions with project teams and subcontractors.
- Guide project teams in assessing sequencing methods, addressing project delays, and developing recovery schedules.
- Develop and deliver training programs on CPM planning and scheduling for operational staff.
- Utilize scheduling software, particularly ASTA, to create and maintain comprehensive project schedules.
- Attend kick-off and coordination meetings to engage with subcontractors and key personnel.
- Prepare monthly progress reports tracking schedule developments for projects.
- Provide training to Shaw employees on scheduling best practices and software tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field and at least 5 years of building construction experience.
- In-depth knowledge of construction practices, techniques, and delivery methods.
- Expertise in Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling and time extension requests.
- Proficient in scheduling software such as Primavera, ASTA, P6, and MS Project.
- Ability to perform schedule impact analysis and help articulate schedule impacts to project ownership.
