Construction Sales Estimator

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in a related field such as engineering or construction – required.
• Working knowledge of MS Suite software (Word, Excel, and Teams).
• Proficient in reading architectural and structural drawings, project specifications, along with a general understanding of the construction process.
• Possesses a valid Driver’s License, good driving history, dependable transportation and pass a background check – required.
• OSHA 30 – required or can be obtained.
• Three (3) years construction estimating experience (Required).
• Three (3) years sales experience.
• Experienced in both private and DOT projects.
• Excellent organizational, computer, and communication skills.
• Detail oriented.

Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules to call on existing or potential sales outlets.
Achieves established sales goals and targets.
Daily in-person meetings with Customers as required, and site visits.
Responsible for the preparation of estimates. Will work closely with owner(s), customer(s), architect(s), engineer(s), subcontractor(s) and others.
Review plans and specifications, attend pre-bid meetings, determine the scope of work, and required contents of the estimate and communicate changes to entire staff.
Prepare estimates by calculating various statistical data, prepare quantity, take off, labor, and material pricing and equipment costs.
Initiates the project budget sheets, including labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment, overhead, and submits to corresponding Project Administrator.
Create, send, and manage subcontractor and material supplier requests for pricing.
Review design option locations and recommend the best solution based on cost, quality, or availability of materials.
Interpret project plans and specifications to owner(s) and project administrator.
Effectively present information to top management and public groups.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations; calculate mathematical extensions. Must have good knowledge of geometric formulas and equations required to calculate quantities in performing quantity takeoffs and estimating.
Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, in addition to a general understanding of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
Organize, manage, process, and complete all payment applications and other reports in a timely manner.
Must possess an excellent knowledge of estimating and excel, internet and project management software, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
Frequent work within tight time restraints to quickly place bids on jobs or help determine the cost feasibility.
Develop and maintain relationships with client(s) and general contractor(s).
Serves customers by selling products and meeting customer needs.
Responsible for the overall project including cost, schedule, quality, safety and promoting a good relationship with the client.
Use the company’s computer system, records, files, and programs for estimating and project management, Microsoft Windows and other programs as needed.
Keeps management informed by submitting weekly bid logs.
Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
Manage all areas of gaining new business through General Contractors, City, County, Texas State Agencies, Federal, and associated entities.
Establish and build relationships with new customers, general contractors, state, county and local development boards, permitting agencies and other entities to generate new sales.
