Construction Project Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
Within the first 30-60 days:
Learn Gulf Coast Services' mission, values, and core procedures while completing hands-on JobRunner training to understand project workflows and best practices.
Meet with Senior Project Managers to learn best practices in client communication, project financials, contract review, risk management, and field oversight, gaining a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end project execution.
Meet with the AR Billing Manager to learn client onboarding protocols in JobRunner, attend weekly Operations meetings to align on priorities, and build rapport with the COO and APM through 1:1 session to understand operations, communication styles, and departmental responsibilities.
Shadow Senior Project Managers to observe daily responsibilities, gradually assuming project management tasks under supervision, and begin independently managing small projects once competency is demonstrated.
By 30 days, is independently owning 5-10 small projects.
Within the next 3-6 months and ongoing:
Collaborate with the Assistant Project Manager by delegating tasks, reviewing submittals, tracking timelines and budgets, and overseeing project communications and purchase order coordination in the ERP system.
Assume transactional projects with larger budgets, 15-20 at a time, and is meeting the core execution metrics within projects.
Lead budget and schedule reviews, strengthens client and internal relationships, refines skills, and ensures projects stay on track through regular contact and schedule oversight.
Within the next 6-12 months and ongoing:
By 6 months, is managing 40-50 projects in varying stages of planning, execution and close out, with high accuracy.
Maintain clear communication with teams and clients, resolve issues proactively, use JobRunner confidently, and support change orders and resource allocation with Accounting and Sales.
Maintain a proactive attitude and commitment to learning, demonstrate pride in workmanship, and uphold a reputation for reliability and follow-through on project commitments.
The Project Manager will be responsible for maintaining a full workload of approximately 50 projects at various sizes and stages of completion, while sustaining strong client relationships through proactive internal planning and clear, consistent external communication. By the 12-month mark, the Project Manager is expected to be fully proficient in managing projects from start through closeout and in maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders through consistent communication and follow-up that drives steady project progress.
Meet with the COO for a 12-month performance review to reflect on progress and set future goals, while excelling in all responsibilities and actively pursuing growth within the company
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
4 + years of project management or trade leadership experience in construction, finishing trades, general contracting, or a related field required
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple active projects at various stages of completion while maintaining precision, organization, and quality control required
Strong understanding of construction project workflows, including scheduling, budgeting, client communication, and subcontractor coordination required
Proven experience in a lead or mentoring role, guiding and developing less tenured team members in project management or construction procedures required
Understanding of general contracting (GC) environments and ability to manage multiple trades, timelines, and project scopes simultaneously required
Proven background owning construction documents, budgeting, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination required
Collaborative team player who communicates clearly and works effectively with internal teams, vendors, and clients required
Knowledge of commercial and residential construction practices, materials, and installation standards required
Skilled at balancing field operations and administrative oversight, ensuring execution aligns with company standards and client expectations highly preferred
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field a plus
OSHA 30 certification or commitment to obtaining it a plus
