Power your future with Qualus in our Program Management department as a Construction Manager. The Construction Manager is responsible for ensuring that constructability meets Qualus and our client expectations of the quality of each assigned project, to ensure compliance within required construction codes, local jurisdictional requirements. budgetary, scheduling, and safety goals. Employees in this role must have natural gas distribution and transmission pipeline experience, meter/regulator construction experience, and they must have experience coordinating and managing construction work performed by contractors at the project site.
Responsibilities:- Construction project oversight for the installation of steel/plastic main, tie-ins and abandonments, meter and pressure /regulating stations, and Citygate stations.
- Oversee and support the construction process in the field enforcing, Safety – ensure contractors are following our safety policies and procedures, Quality – ensure work is of good quality and built to company specifications, and Compliance – ensure contractors are following all company constructions policies, standards, and federal, state and local regulations and codes.
- Supervises contract inspectors and resolves issues including material, construction and scheduling conflicts.
- Reports progress daily to the PM and ensures accurate reporting including SOP’s, daily completion, sketches and contractor OQ’s as required.
- Performs financial analysis of construction projects under advisement of leadership.
- Facilitates pre-construction meeting, emphasizing safety and communicates any schedule or construction recommendations with PM.
- Oversees pre-fab and onsite construction - monitors project safety, scope, quality, risk, schedule, and budget.
- Maintain project folder containing all relevant material tracking and test records.
- Coordinates the testing and start-up of installed equipment, develops punch list and obtains signoff of the turnover check list from the Field Leader.
- Ensures as-built redline drawings are submitted to Engineering.
- Compile and submit close out documentation consistent to standard format provided by PM.
- Thorough knowledge of company work, environmental, and safety practices, including a working knowledge of natural gas operations.
- In-depth knowledge of materials, construction standards, regulations (OSHA), and safety requirements for natural gas construction.
- Thorough knowledge of PC and job/work management applications including AS8, Atlas, Mobile Maps & MS Office Suite.
